About the tour

Join us on this virtual journey through 160 years of the London Underground network’s history.

Led by an expert guide, this tour explores how the network grew and evolved over the years, from Charles Pearson’s revolutionary idea to run trains underground in the 1850s to today’s futuristic tunnels of the new Elizabeth line.

Along the way you will learn about the prowesses, trials and errors that made the Tube the marvel of engineering it is today; and you will discover how some stations came to become ‘forgotten’, disused, and even sometimes repurposed in surprising manners.

Featuring exclusive documents from our archives, looks into several Hidden London sites and even glimpses of previously unexplored areas of Oxford Circus; this tour is a unique opportunity to discover how the London Underground network navigated the twists and turns of modern history.

Virtual tour time: 18:00
Duration: 90 minutes (approx)
Location: Zoom (link will be emailed to ticket holder before event)
Tickets: £20 / £17.50 concessions
