Our new exhibition, Legacies: London Transport’s Caribbean Workforce explores and celebrates the generations of Caribbean people that have shaped London’s transport history and culture.
Almost 70 years ago, London Transport needed more workers after the Second World War. They went to Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica to recruit people who lived in the Caribbean to move 7,000km across the ocean to live in the UK.
