Description
Interior view of a section of the Metropolitan Railway platform at Notting Hill Gate Underground station, now Circle and District lines.
The photograph shows a wooden seat with the hamd painted station name surrounded by advertisements for main line railway companies and auction notices. The three large billboards on the retaining wall contain, left to right, a message from, and photograph of, the then Prime Minister, David Lloyd George; a series of posters advertising the activities of the YMCA/YWCA; and a Daily Herald poster.
