| Description | In 1957 when this picture was taken, there was a clear divide between the jobs for men and those for women in London Transport (L.T.). There were still no women bus or train drivers, but office administration was almost exclusively women's work. This picture was taken at the L.T. headquarters at 55 Broadway. At that time, before computers, shorthand and touch-typing using manual typewriters were important office skills. |
