Description | Gold coloured metal cap badge issued to West Ham Tramways staff, with a coat of arms cut out in the centre of an oval ring embossed into which is the inscription 'West Ham' at the top and 'Tramways' at the top. This ring is infilled with dark blue enamel. The whole of surrounded by a laurel wreath. The coat of arms depicts a shield with chevron design and a ship and crossed hammers, above this is a helmet and feathers. Under the coat of arms is a small scroll embossed with the motto 'Deo Confidimus'. On the reverse is a small panel with the maker's name |
