Main details
Reference number | 1985/58 |
---|---|
Description | Vending machines, usually selling chocolate or cigarettes, have stood on station platforms since the days of steam trains. This double- sided sign reading 'Auto Sales' would have been from such a machine. Internally illuminated and with a bronze frame, the sign is Art Deco in style and is designed to be mounted on the curving wall of a Tube station. It is from the Northern line platform of Leicester Square Underground station. |
