Description | British War Medal 1914-1918 awarded to Charles Lee, who served with the Royal Naval Division as a bus driver at the Front during the First World War. This medal was designed by W McMillan and was granted to all men who served in a theatre of war or overseas between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. The design on the reverse depicts a male figure on horseback trampling underfoot the shield of the Central Powers (Germany and its allies) and a skull and cross-bones, with the rising sun of victory above. |
