Trophy; awarded to women employees for singles lawn tennis championship, 1935

For many years, London Transport staff have been involved in establishing sports associations and taking part in sporting competitions and events. This unusual trophy was awarded to the winners of London Transport's Women's Singles Lawn Tennis Championship. The cupid-like figure is mounted on a base of six silver tennis balls. The inscription reads 'London Transport Women's Singles Lawn Tennis Championship, Presented by Frank Pick Esq, Vice Chairman.' Past winners - only from 1971 to 1979 - are listed underneath.
