Description | This poster, L.T. to L.R.T, highlights the competition that appeared when London's bus services were privatised during the 1980s. The title refers to London Transport (L.T.) changing to London Regional Transport (L.R.T) when bus operation was split up into geographical districts. The districts in turn became separate subsidiaries of London Buses when it was formed in 1984. A year later, bus routes were put out to competitive tender and the London Buses companies had to compete for contracts against outside operators. The poster was designed by graphic designer Le Cluse. |
