Description | London Transport published this poster in 1984. The cartoon image by Edward Rowland McLachlan presents some of the advantages of travelling to town by bus. A frustrated traffic warden stands in the empty road as hundreds of bus-travelling shoppers make their purchases: everything from anoraks to exotic plants. A man leans out of a pub doorway, holding a pint of beer in one hand. With a satisfied grin, he shows a passing policeman the sign he carries in the other: 'we came by bus so there'. |
