Description | London Transport commissioned this poster in 1958 to promote London's museums. It was designed in two halves, one for the image and one for text. Pair posters like this were intended for prime sites such as Underground station entrances. The format offered both the artist and the copywriter more freedom. Joan Beales created a montage of artefacts found in London's Museums. Visitors including a group of mischievous-looking schoolboys view the collections. |
