Description | This bus shelter on Euston Road near Baker Street has a Countdown bus information system. The system uses beacon-based Automatic Vehicle Location technology to track buses anywhere in London. By 2006, 4,766 microwave beacons had been installed across London. The technology aims to encourage the use of public transport, by telling travellers how long they will have to wait for buses to arrive at a stop. |
