Description | The first of ten Metropolitan Railway 1906-electric locomotives. The trains were built in 1904/6 with Westinghouse equipment, and used to haul Aylesbury line trains on the electrified sections in central London and through trains from the Great Western Railway (GWR) over Inner Circle tracks to Aldgate. This locomotive bore the no 1 and was constructed in 1904. It is seen here coupled to a rigid eight-wheel coach. |
