Description | Two Garden-Seat Horse buses operated by Thomas Tilling & Co. The buses stand side by side in front view and three quarter front view, in Catford. An LCC tram stands background right.The drivers pose for the camera with passengers on the top deck. Original print sent in by a Mrs Cockle of Blackheath (April 1982). Mrs Cockle's father was an LCC Tram driver, standing on left of image (holding horses bridle). The LCC drivers father is the horse bus driver on the right, the second driver and conductor are his brothers. The bus conductor (wearing dark overcoat and bowler hat) stand beside the horses foreground right. The Cannon Brewery stands in the background. Destination boards read Lee Green Catford & Sydenham. |
