Description | The Underground Electric Railways Company of London, Limited (UERL) symbol, designed by Mr W J Pawsey in 1907. The design was the winning entry in a competition, organized by the Evening News, to find a symbol for the Underground Group. It was published in the newspaper on 19 May 1907 and appeared in the Hampstead Tube opening publicity. |
