Description
This is a paper edition of the geographic style Underground map. It shows all the Underground Group railways plus the Metropolitan Railway. The map shows all lines in their entirety except the Metropolitan line which is shown as far as Harrow-on-the-Hill and the Eastbound District line which is shown to Bow Road, stations beyond the boundaries of the map are indicated in boxes at the end of the lines. Each line is given a different colour and routes which are covered by two lines a represented by colours of both lines. Interchanges are marked by circles and white line interconnectors and station names are all printed in black. Geographical features such as parks, roads and the River Thames are marked on the map and tramway routes are highlighted, with a different colour for each tramway company. Olympia, Shepherd's Bush Exhibition Ground, Earls Court Exhibition Ground, Queen's Club, Chelsea, Brentford, Clapton Orient and Fulham Football Grounds, Lord's, London Zoo, Royal Agricultural Hall, Alexandra Palace, Hendon Airfield, Twickenham Rugby Ground, Oval, Royal Horticultural Hall and Crystal Palace are all marked in yellow. The Edgware Road to Paddington extension of the Bakerloo line is shown as a line under construction indicated by a broken brown line, and Stamford Brook Station is included for the first time. This map has a blue border, a title in the top right hand corner and a reference key in the bottom right hand corner. On the reverse there are details about football grounds, omnibus services, connections with main line stations, winter walks, events in December and January, a theatre plan, a list of places of interest and an advert for excursions to Southend. The front cover has a solid red roundel with UndergrounD logo bar.
