Description | Roll of punched paper tape that was used to produce melinex signalling programme machine rolls. Within a card box bearing a label stating that it was used for the signalling operations on the occasion of the Royal opening of the Victoria Line, 7 March 1969. There is a code number '11 02 01 N030' punched into the start of the paper tape, which indicates that it is for site 11, which is Victoria. The '2' denotes that the roll is for Programme Machine No. 2 there. The '01' relates to the day on which the service is to operate - 01 was Monday to Friday (02 was Sat and 03 was Sun). 'N030' tells the user that the roll relates to Timetable Notice No. 30 in that year. |
