Description | Photographic postcard showing a group shot of Army Service Corps soldiers (nicknamed The Royal Brotherhood) including James (Jim) Woodards, an LGOC bus driver, in uniform during WW1. Woodards may be the man standing extreme right, holding a cigarette in his left hand. Woodards went off to work as a lorry driver at the Front. There is a written message from him on the back to someone in his wife's family, the Groves, in which he mentions the date the photograph was taken and that the Brotherhood was just about to depart for Paris. |
