Description | This photographic postcard shows a family portrait of bus driver James (Jim) Woodards in Army Service Corps uniform, with his wife, Solange, and baby son, Norman. Following the outbreak of the First World War, Woodards joined the Army Service Corps and was posted to France to drive troops to and from battle. Woodards, who worked for the London General Omnibus Company, served in the 319th Motor Transport Company. He was awarded the Military Medal, the 1914/15 Star, the British War Medal, and the Allied Victory Medal. |
