Description | This book, 'Metro-Land' is one of a series published by the Metropolitan Railway (Met) over 17 years (1915 - 1932). It describes the places served by the Met and includes photos, a general report of the British Empire Exhibition and a guide to 'How to get about London'. The front cover depicts an outside view of part of the British Empire Exhibition held at Wembley in 1924 - 25. The term 'Metro-Land' was coined by the Met to refer to the new suburbs that grew in northwest London as a direct result of the developing railway line. |
